A temperature class is not a certificate.
Fleet, roadside and station systems need a board that survives the rail and cabinet. Rail classes run to −40/+85 °C; these boards are −20/+60 °C. The gap is stated first.
No rail-equipment certification is claimed. The equipment must be type-tested by the integrator.
Rail temperature classes and vibration
- OT4 −40 °C to +70 °C rail class
- OT6 −40 °C to +85 °C rail class
- OT1 / OT3 −25/+55 and −25/+70 °C
- EN 61373 body-mounted, 5–150 Hz, ~5–10 g, three axes
Sources: F25, F26; ratings from spec cards.
Requirement / interface
Where −20/+60 °C boards fit, and where not.
UT1003AW and RP7003AW carry 6 × COM on 146 × 102 mm with DC 9–36 V; RP7003AW adds 2 × CAN. AD600Z3AW adds 155 × 117 mm. For OT4 and OT6 the board sits below the class; test or choose another platform.
- Input9–36 V on all three
- Serial6 × COM on both
- Fieldbus2 × CAN on RP7003AW; 1 on UT1003AW
- Envelope3.5-inch, fanless planning
Spec-to-model mapping
What carries, what does not, which class it misses.
| Requirement | Matching spec value | Model | What is not claimed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wide DC input | 9–36 V | All three | Not a vehicle standard |
| Serial reach | 6 × COM; COM1/2 RS232/485 | RP7003AW / UT1003AW | No isolated serial |
| Fieldbus | 2 × CAN headers | RP7003AW | Not a CANopen stack |
| Temperature class | OT1/OT3 closest; OT4/OT6 out of range | None | No rail class claimed |
| Shock and vibration | EN 61373 is an equipment test | System | No board-level EN 61373 claim |
| Wireless | M.2 B-Key + SIM card slot | UT1003AW / AD600Z3AW | Not a certified radio module |
OT ladder / where the board sits
OT1 to OT6, with the board band drawn in.
OT1 overlaps both ends; OT3 hot only; OT4 and OT6 sit outside.
Configuration example / not a named customer
A station display on a 24 V rail.
A station display runs from a 24 V rail. RP7003AW supplies 6 × COM; UT1003AW adds Core Ultra and AMT LAN. Both are rated −20/+60 °C. For OT4 at −40/+70 °C, the board is short by 20 °C cold and 10 °C hot.
−20/+60 °Cboard band, not a rail class

Mechanical fit / two checks
Mounting and cooling in the cabinet.

Both 3.5-inch picks are 146 × 102 mm; AD600Z3AW is 155 × 117 mm. The board rating is −20 to +60 °C. Airflow, shock isolation and the enclosure test are the integrator's work.
No rail certification is claimed for a bare board.

Before the inquiry
Class, cold-start and vibration doubts, answered.
Is the board certified for rail equipment?
No rail-equipment certification is claimed. The equipment must be type-tested by the integrator.
Can it run at −40 °C?
No. The board rating is −20 to +60 °C. OT4 and OT6 sit outside that range; do not design to them with these boards.
What about shock and vibration?
EN 61373 is an equipment test: body-mounted, 5–150 Hz, ~5–10 g, three axes. No board-level claim is made; the integrator type-tests.

Send the rail voltage and OT class.
RP7003AW is the serial-heavy default. Send the rail voltage, COM and CAN count and the OT class; we reply with the closest configuration or say the class is out of reach. Quote within 24–48 h.
