Envelope check / four numbers

Four checks before the shortlist.

  • Board 155 × 117 mm

9 mm wider than standard 3.5-inch.

  • DC input 9–36 V

    Both models.

  • Temperature −20…+60 °C

    Both models.

  • I/O character 6 COM + CAN

    Dual LAN with AMT; LVDS/eDP.

Model table / 155 × 117 mm

Two models, one envelope.

Both carry six COM headers, CAN and 9–36 V. The platform and the LAN controllers differ.

Trade-off / 155 × 117 mm

What the extra 9 mm buys.

The extra width carries a second row of edge I/O: 6 COM, CAN, dual LAN with AMT, and LVDS/eDP on both models.

Standard 3.5-inch at 146 × 102 mm is smaller but loses that row. Mini-ITX at 170 × 170 mm adds PCIe and a larger board.

The dashed outline is the standard 3.5-inch board. The solid outline is the Wide envelope.

FAQ / envelope decisions

Three questions before the shortlist.

01Is a 3.5-inch board a drop-in for another vendor's 3.5-inch board?

No. 3.5-inch is a size class, not a mounting standard. Standard boards are 146 × 102 mm; this Wide envelope is 155 × 117 mm. Check hole positions and I/O cut-outs on the drawing.

02When does the next size up pay for itself?

When you need a PCIe x16 slot or a socketed 65 W CPU. Mini-ITX at 170 × 170 mm adds those; the cost is board volume and power.

03Which models have a spec card on file?

Both: AD600Z3AW and TL500Z3AW. Ask for the card that matches your enclosure and I/O list.
