Industries / seven routes

Start from the board attribute your industry stresses.

Seven buyer segments, routed by the attribute that decides the board: serial reach, isolation, temperature class, watchdog, display count, LAN count or EMC. One model per route, with the claim boundary printed beside it.

Industry pain numbers

  • US$125,000 median downtime cost per hour
  • US$800–900 per hour, checkout lane down
  • 2× MOPP patient isolation at 240 V: 8 mm creepage, 5 mm clearance
  • 4 kV EFT immunity is an equipment-level substation test

Mapping / pain to attribute to model

The route is arguable: here is the attribute and the boundary.

Industry route matrix · models named by spec card
Industry Attribute that decides it Best-fit model Claim boundary
Factory automation 6 × COM, 2 × CAN, 9–36 V RP7003AW Not a PLC, PAC or safety controller; no SIL/PL file.
Medical devices 6 W fanless, 12–19 V, dual LAN AD30NU Not certified as a medical device; the device maker certifies.
Transportation 9–36 V, 6 × COM, rated −20/+60 °C UT1003AW No rail certification claimed; integrator type-tests.
Kiosk & POS 100 × 100 mm NUC, 12–19 V, dual display AD600CA Board not PCI PTS certified; that applies to the terminal.
Digital signage HDMI + Mini DP, 2 × 2.5G LAN TL500CA Display sync depends on the player, not the board alone.
Edge AI & security 4 × LAN, M.2 storage, Mini PCIe PNM-5210 No accelerator or TOPS figure is claimed.
Energy & communication 9–36 V, 6 × COM, 2 × LAN AD600Z3AW Substation immunity is an equipment test.

Six recurring board attributes

What changes between industries is which attribute binds first.

  • Temperature −20 °C to +60 °C on documented models; storage −40 °C to +85 °C.
  • DC input 9–36 V on wide-voltage picks; 12–19 V on NUC and NANO boards.
  • COM / CAN / GPIO 6 × COM on 3.5-inch picks; 1–2 × CAN; 8-bit GPIO.
  • LAN 2 × 2.5G on most models; 4 × LAN on PNM-5210.
  • Expansion M.2 E-Key, B-Key 4G/5G, Mini PCIe and PCIe 4.0 ×4.
  • Lifecycle Machines run 15–30 years; controls are supported 10–15 years.

Boundary / board versus equipment

A board is a component. The certificate belongs to the equipment.

GEOLiNK supplies the board; the integrator builds and type-tests the enclosure. Rail, substation and medical-equipment standards apply to the finished system, not a bare board.

  • CE-EMC, FCC and RoHS documentation covers Q-BOX-S5; holder: Piesia.
  • Board-level compliance documents are available per model on request.
  • No SIL, PL, medical, rail or payment certificate is claimed for a board.

Before the shortlist

Three questions that stop an industry shortlist.

Which model fits my industry?

Start with the attribute column: RP7003AW serial, AD30NU medical, AD600CA kiosk, UT1003AW transport.

What certificate will you provide?

CE-EMC, FCC and RoHS documents cover Q-BOX-S5, held by Piesia. Board documents are per model; equipment certification is the integrator's.

Can the board be customized?

Within documented options: nine Core Ultra SKUs on UT100CA, BOM COM choices on PNM-5210, and LVDS/eDP or TPM options by model. MOQ is confirmed with your quote.
