Envelope check / four numbers

Four checks before the shortlist.

  • Board 100 × 72 mm

    Soldered memory on both models.

  • DC input 12 V

    60 W on AD742A; 15 W on FTEQ20A.

  • Temperature −20…+60 °C

    Both documented models; per model.

  • Expansion M.2 + SATA

    Soldered memory; no SO-DIMM slot.

A dash means the specification card does not list that value. Ask for the model drawing before specifying a harness.

Trade-off / 100 × 72 mm

The smallest envelope keeps the job, not the slots.

Soldered memory, one or two LAN ports and 12 V input. Display outputs suit panels rather than video walls; expansion stops at M.2 and SATA.

NANO-ITX at 120 × 120 mm is roughly twice the board area and adds SO-DIMM slots plus more LAN. Step up only when those ports or that memory ceiling are required.

True-scale outline / 0.5 px/mm

The envelope is the smallest here; the AA-cell reference is 50.5 mm long.

FAQ / envelope decisions

Three questions before the shortlist.

01Is a 2.5-inch board a drop-in for another vendor's 2.5-inch board?

No. The figure is a size class, not a mounting standard. Hole positions, connector heights and I/O cut-outs differ; check the drawing before reusing an enclosure.

02When does the next size up pay for itself?

When you need more than one LAN port, more than two COM ports, or socketed memory. NANO-ITX at 120 × 120 mm adds SO-DIMM slots and more LAN at roughly twice the board area.

03Which models have a spec card on file?

AD742A and FTEQ20A. PDM-5110 and UT1002AW are on request; ask for the current status and I/O list.
